Our Obstetrics Department

The Obstetrics Department at Perry County Memorial Hospital has been delivering babies for over 50 years. Our experienced labor and delivery team is here to provide you with exceptional and personalized care. Our staff strives to provide the best obstetrical (OB) services for expectant mothers and their families. We believe it is essential to help families transition from the hospital to home with their new baby, whether they are first time parents or part of a growing family.

We are fully equipped to meet all your prenatal, labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care needs. Your entire birthing experience will take place in a private, comfortable, and caring environment from admission to discharge, and our undivided attention is guaranteed.

Perry County Memorial Hospital is proud to offer two obstetrical and gynecological providers that serve several locations. We are here to provide support for all of your needs.

Dr. Micia Roby, Family Practice-Obstetrician, is new to Perry County and began serving patients at the 13th Street Clinic in January 2021. She specializes in both family practice and obstetrical services.

Kayla Lawalin, FNP-C, is seeing patients at the 13th Street Clinic. She specializes in both obstetrical services and family practice.

All providers are accepting new patients.

We can help you feel more comfortable and answer any questions you may have about fertility, pregnancy, labor, delivery, and parenthood in general.

Obstetrical Services We Offer

We provide spacious one-room suites for labor, delivery, and recovery. Thanks to the use of modern, state-of-the-art technology, our OB providers, 24-hour triage services, lactation consultants, and fetal medicine experts can provide exceptional care close to home.

Perry County Memorial Hospital is now an approved IN Safe Sleep Distributor Site

The Indiana State Department of Health, through partnerships with agencies in the State of Indiana, will provide safe sleep education and Infant Survival kits. Every mother delivering at PCMH will receive a fitted sheet with a secure sleep message imprinted on it, a wearable blanket, pacifier, and safe sleep recommendations for families who do not have a safe place for their infants to sleep.

  • Childbirth 102: Labor & Delivery: Inductions, C-Sections, when to come to the hospital, triage, pregnancy, complications, stages of birth, anesthesia/pain control, labor positions.
  • Childbirth 103: After Delivery: What to expect during your stay, what to pack in your bag, skin-to-skin, postpartum depression, postpartum complications.
  • Breastfeeding classes: Learn how to nurse your baby properly, the best way to nourish an infant, with the help of a certified lactation consultant.
  • All About Your Baby: Newborn care, newborn safety, safety-proofing your home, car seat safety, feeding options, when to call your pediatrician, pediatrician options, infant photography, and “Back to Sleep.”
  • Big Brother Big Sister: Help your older children learn how to bond or help adapt to being a big brother or big sister.

Gynecology Services

Perry County Obstetrician-Gynecologist (OB/GYN) Dr. Lori Munsie is dedicated to being your partner for all your healthcare needs as a woman, no matter your age. Our highly skilled team led by Drs. Roby and Munsie recognizes the importance of specialized care for women, as the female reproductive system is biologically unique compared to men’s. We strive to treat our patients as a whole and not just the health condition that may be affecting them.
