Ladies Day Out: Supporting Women’s Health Through Education and Awareness

The Perry County Memorial Hospital (PCMH) Oncology Department is proud to partner with the Perry County Chamber of Commerce once again to co-host this year’s Ladies Day Out Breakfast. This event is more than a celebration—it’s an opportunity to provide women with the tools, knowledge, and resources they need to make informed decisions about their health.
Putting Women’s Health First
Women often put the needs of others before their own, which can make it easy to overlook regular screenings and preventive care. At Ladies Day Out, PCMH Oncology will emphasize the importance of women prioritizing their own health. From understanding risk factors to learning when to schedule screenings, attendees will walk away with information that can make a lasting difference.
Cancer Awareness and Prevention
One of the main focuses of this year’s breakfast is cancer awareness. Many types of cancer—including breast, cervical, ovarian, and colorectal—can be detected early through screenings. Early detection not only improves treatment outcomes but also saves lives.
Our oncology team will share practical guidance on:
- Routine Screenings: When to schedule mammograms, Pap tests, and other key exams.
- Signs and Symptoms: Subtle changes to watch for and when to talk with your provider.
- Lifestyle Choices: How nutrition, exercise, and stress management can help lower cancer risks.
Knowledge Empowers Women
Education is a powerful tool for prevention. Ladies Day Out will give attendees a chance to ask questions, access reliable information, and learn about the resources available right here at PCMH. Whether it’s oncology services, preventive screenings, or support programs, our goal is to make sure women feel confident and supported in managing their health.
