Each year, the month of May is dedicated to National Mental Health Awareness Month — a time to raise awareness, break stigma, and encourage open conversations about mental health. At Perry County Memorial Hospital (PCMH), we recognize the profound importance of mental well-being and are proud to offer compassionate, comprehensive care to our community.

Why Mental Health Awareness Matters

Mental health affects every part of our lives — from how we think and feel to how we relate to others and make choices. Yet, millions of people struggle silently due to stigma, lack of access to care, or uncertainty about where to turn for help.
At PCMH, we believe that mental health care is health care. We're committed to making mental health services accessible, respectful, and supportive for every individual who walks through our doors.

Mental health struggles are nothing to be ashamed of. Seeking help is a sign of strength — and no one should have to go through it alone. This May, and every day, PCMH encourages you to:

  • Talk openly about mental health
  • Check in with yourself and others
  • Seek support when you need it
  • Know that help is available
