Call to Action for Local Children

CALL TO ACTION FOR LOCAL CHILDREN: In a resounding display of unity, four local, county Judges will be holding a joint press conference on Monday, September 19, 2016 at 6:00 PM CST in the Circuit Court of the Perry County Courthouse in Tell City, IN to lead a call to action for local children.

The judges will address the overall increase in child abuse/neglect cases in our area. Apart from the criminal justice issues and law enforcement issues created by substance abuse, local counties are seeing the number of child abuse and child neglect cases increasing to record levels and there is a real and immediate need for the public to assist by becoming Foster Parents or Court Appointed Advocates (CASA’s).

Based on recent statistics, over 140 children in Perry County alone are currently in foster care with a very limited number of foster families available. These children are being moved from their homes, from their communities (our community) and placed sometimes 1-3 hours away, if not more. Please join us in a movement to provide much needed care and support for these children.
