Perry County Memorial Hospital Wins Emergency Nurses Challenge Third Consecutive Year

TELL CITY, INDIANA – In celebration of National Emergency Nurses Week, Perry County Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Room department was asked to compete in an Emergency Nurses Week Challenge hosted by The Emergency Nurses Association Chapter 137. The event took place Thursday, October 13 in Evansville, IN at St. Mary’s Medical Center Manor Auditorium.

The hospital team was to consist of 5 bedside staff RNs. Questions were based on Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) and Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) review style questions. Representing PCMH were Lucy Ubelhor, Nicole Miles, Bessie Collins, Amber Shearn and Melissa Monnahan. Perry County Memorial Hospital competed against local hospitals, including Owensboro Medical Health Center, St. Mary’s Medical Center, Deaconess Hospital, Methodist Hospital, Henderson, KY, and Regional Medical Center, Madisonville, KY. The Perry County Memorial Hospital team did an outstanding job and walked away, again, with first place. Second place went to Methodist Hospital in Henderson, KY and third place went to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville, IN.

Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) Chapter 137 is a local branch of a professional organization promoting unity of the local emergency department nurses and enhancing educational opportunities within the Tri-State area.
